Blind and shutter cleaning
A shutter is a perfect dust trap: dozens of slats and narrow gaps an ordinary cloth simply cannot reach. We wash them with high-pressure water, with the shutter left where it is.
High-pressure washing is the efficient way to clean a shutter. The water gets right into the narrow gaps between the slats and drives out the dust, soot, pollen and cobwebs that have built up over years — without scrubbing slat by slat and without soaking the shutter in chemicals.
We work on aluminium shutters, roller shutters and external louvres, and the job is done with the shutter in place: we do not take it down and we do not touch the mechanism. It goes on working exactly as it did before we arrived, only clean.
We wash the insect screens on the same visit. A screen clogged with dust blocks far more air and light than you would think.
What the service includes
- Slats and shutters washed with high-pressure water
- Screen cleaning — washed thoroughly with high-pressure water.
- Work done in place — the shutter stays where it is throughout, and we never touch the mechanism.
- Shutters at height too — washed from the ground, with no ladders and no scaffolding.
- Electric shutters — washed at an adjusted water pressure, never directing the jet at the motor or the wiring.

How the job works
A short call
Tell us how many shutters there are, what type they are and which floor. One photo on WhatsApp answers most of the questions.
Setting up
We lay protection below the window, check the windows are shut and cover anything that needs to stay dry.
The pressure wash
We work down the shutter from top to bottom at a controlled pressure, until the water running off it comes away clean.
Track cleaning
We finish with a wet vacuum that lifts the water and the dirt that ran off the shutter out of the runner — so no sludge is left sitting in the bottom of the track.
Frequently asked questions
My shutter is jammed or squeaking — do you deal with that?
No. We wash and clean only; we do not touch the mechanism, the strap or the motor. A mechanical fault is a shutter technician's job, and we are happy to refer you to one.
Does the shutter have to come down?
No. The whole job is done with the shutter in place. It is faster, it costs less, and it avoids the risk that a shutter taken down does not sit quite the same way again.
Will the water pressure damage the shutter?
Not on aluminium shutters or roller shutters. We adjust the pressure and the working distance to the type of shutter and its condition. Wooden blinds and internal Venetian blinds are not suited to pressure washing, and those we do not take on — we will tell you that up front.
How often should shutters be cleaned?
Once a year is enough for most homes. If you are near a main road, a building site or the sea, twice a year is better, because soot, dust and salt collect between the slats far faster.
